Inside China

I’m launching a new China video series from Shenzhen.
The project combines long-form YouTube storytelling with short-form and UGC content.

Your brand can support the launch of the project and receive exclusive custom-made content in return.

What this project includes:

  • Everyday environments rarely shown online (eg. School)

  • Long-form YouTube episodes

  • Short-form & UGC content for brand usage

  • Limited early partner slots during the launch phase

This is not a finished YouTube channel.

It’s the launch of a new content series.

For two weeks, I’ll be traveling through China to create the first core episodes of a long-form format focused on everyday life, culture and perspectives beyond surface-level China content.

The starting point is Shenzhen — one of the most influential cities in the world when it comes to technology, platforms, manufacturing and trends that already shape daily life in the West.

The goal is simple:
Create content that goes one layer deeper and open a new perspective.

The Project

Why China? Why now?

Why China?
Why now?

China is no longer a distant topic.

Products, platforms, technologies, working models and visual trends from Asia increasingly influence everyday life in the West.

At the same time, China content on social media has exploded. But most of it stays on the surface.

It often looks like a Disneyland version of the country: impressive, but distant.

Between everyday life and the outside view, there is still a glass wall.

This project is built to go beyond that.

Through prior experience in China, personal contacts, access to everyday environments (including schools) and a genuine interest in language and culture, the content is created from within, not as a tourist.

An indicator of growing interest in China-related content.

One Day in a Chinese Highschool

A personal look into everyday school life in a part of China with little to no tourism. More than 80% of the people there have never met a foreigner in real life. After meeting a student on my last China trip, I was invited to spend a day with him and his class.

China’s Social Credit System Explained

An investigation into how China’s social credit system actually works, how everyday people perceive it, and why it isn’t widely resisted but often accepted. The episode explores cultural differences in trust, order, and social accountability. And why similar systems in the West may be inevitable.

Inside Chinas Livestreaming Farms

A look behind massive livestream selling operations with hundreds of creators. The episode shows how live commerce works in China — and what it reveals about modern consumerism, with the same mechanics slowly taking shape in the West.

What does China Think About us?
